SHADING (VALUES)

Value is one of the seven elements of art. It refers to the relative level of darkness or lightness of a colour in terms of contrast.

The other six elements are:
-Line
-Shape
-Form
-Space
-Colour
-Texture

We will learn how to use all of them on our next works of art.

Click on the picture bellow to get an idea of how to draw basic shapes and make them look realistic by shading them.
We are only going to use graphite pencils for now. You´ll need two of the  pencils that I told you to buy, the HB and 2B.

This is going to be our next work of art.
If you want to download the file and print it out, You can do so here .

The drawing below belongs to Elisa R. Great!

When drawing with only one colour you can use different techniques like the ones shown in the picture.
